Rotavirus after effects

First time mum here - my little boy (3 months) had his second round of jabs just over 2 weeks ago, including the Rotavirus syrup. He was fine after the first set but this time the Rotavirus seems to have done a number on him (or perhaps it is something else?) His poo is still very runny and is less frequent than it used to be, which seems to be causing him a lot of discomfort I.e. lots of grunting, arched back, grizzly, not happy in any position. Once he’s been able to go, he’s much happier (which is fair enough!)

So, I’m just wondering if any one had a similar experience? How long can we expect this to continue for and at what point it becomes cause for concern? He is otherwise in really good health - sleeping well at night, putting on weight etc., not dehydrated, and mostly bright and cheerful

Hi!
my boy did not get a rotavirus vaccine but I think the decrease in poo frequency is natural. As their digestive system gets more mature they won’t be pooing several times a day. I think maybe the vaccine has coincided with this transition in your boy?. My boy is also unhappy when he doesn’t go to the toilet daily. It is also more likely in breastfed babies to poo every other day, or sometimes they can go several days without one.

Thanks @JohnnysMama - I did wonder if it was a coincidence. There’s always something new going on, isn’t there?! Although he was definitely having diarrhoea for a bit, which must have been the vaccine.
In case it’s helpful to anyone else, my son’s symptoms lasted for about 2 and a half weeks after the dose.
