Our daughter has always had sensitive skin which we have always been wary of and always kept it under control but recently things have gotten out of hand and we cant seem to get it any better! Were using oiltum to bath and doublebase mouisturiser 3 times a day, but her skin is awful and its been a nightmare, especially night times, poor girl is waking up every night upset non stop itching! We have also tried other products but its just gotten out of hand we dont even know what to try next... her tummy and back is so rough its upsetting.. any help appreciated, thanks

You poor things ☹️
my DD suffers from it- 2 things that helped us when it’s bad are:

  1. steroid cream applied twice daily until it’s under control then reduce it to twice weekly then weekly until it’s cleared (you’ll need a prescription)
  2. Piriton at night to stop the itching during sleep
  3. Only ever 100% cotton underwear, vests and clothes

Everything wobblymum says. Also keep her on the cool side, especially in bed. Heat makes it worse. Push GP for a referral to a dermatologist. Poor baby. I feel for her.

Totally agree- heat is your enemy, room needs to be cool

You need a steroid cream for two or three days to get it under control. Ask the GP. And while you are there, I find Cetraben better than doublebase, apply twice a day.

Keep clear of bubble bath, don’t bath/shower every day, don’t shampoo hair then rinse in the bath.

Calendula lotion healed my daughter's eczema on her arm. Hers kept being very flared up on and off until I started using the lotion and since then it has been been under control.
