Darker knees and elbows - suntan

Just seeking information if anyone else has experienced this when their children get a bit of sun!

We are using SPF50 sunscreen under 50SPF swimming T-shirt/vests over their swimming costumes on our children whilst away in the Canary Islands.

My oldest daughter (10) typically goes brown instead of red then brown but we have noticed her knees and elbows have gone considerably darker than the rest of her legs and arms.

I've never seen this before, anyone else experienced this?

My two get this 12 [girl]and 14 [boy]now. Their knees in particular go darker than their legs. Almost looks like dirt on them when they have been in the sun for a long time like away in Spain. I never thought anything of it think its normal. We use Factor 20 on them and they don't wear protected swimwear

Thank you for that, I was starting to look up if it could be anything dangerous - typical worried dad Smile

That is understandable but I wouldn't worry :)

Make sure they bend the joint when applying the sunscreen

Good call. I've been applying it with them standing up legs straight! I'll do that from today!
