DS is 9 months and has been conventionally crawling for around a month now. The last few days he has suddenly changed to club crawling, is this a cause for concern?

Hi. Depends on what you mean. I'm guessing it is hitch crawling?

Few reasons;

  • might have 'discovered' it and it's fun
  • quicker to get to places
  • might be 'skilling up' in preparation to stretching legs out to stand up
  • sore hips/hurt something/uncomfortable
  • developmental

Talks to your HV team. They will review and if needed will re review in 6 weeks or refer to physio at some point, if needed.

Thank you! Yes, sorry I do mean hutch crawling. He is desperate to walk and will pull himself up at any given opportunity so I’m hoping this is preparing for walking soon.
