8yo with recurrent stomach ache/sickness

My 8yo DD has been complaining of a sore stomach quite a lot these last few months.
2 weeks ago she was in a lot of pain and we ended up going to the GP to rule out appendicitis. The GP didn't think it was, thankfully. After a few days of severe pain and some vomiting she was feeling much better and has been fine, up until last night.
Last night she began to complain her stomach was sore again (although not as severe as the other week) but she's vomited a few times this afternoon.
I'm going to call the GP tomorrow, but has anyone else's child experienced anything like this? I'm getting a little worried. Thanks!

Hi OP - both my DC had this and it turned out to be coeliac disease. It is prevalent in my family but anyone can suffer with it. I wonder if your DC may have a swollen lymph node in their stomach? That can be painful and cause lots of tummy aches.

Constipation would be my go to!

Twenty odd years ago 8-10yr girls having stomach aches used to be said they were having migraines. Its how they presented in girls (not boys). The migraine pain showed in the stomach area rather than the head. Several doctors said this so I don't think its an old wife's tale although maybe it is. Migraines can result in vomiting.

Try treating as though it was a migraine ie dehydration, lack of sleep, irregular meals etc can all cause it in susceptible people.

Forgot to add, once the girls hit puberty the stomach aches stopped but they got the headaches with their cycle. That's why it's a girl and not a boy thing. Both of my girls had it, one went onto period headaches, the other had horrendous migraines until she hit 20yrs, now she rarely has them.
