DD has been a bit irritable all day, snotty nose, no fever, but now also has a fist sized itchy rash on the top of her back - I’ve given her an antihistamine for that in case it’s a bite as we’ve had the windows open.

I’d say not - scarlet fever tends to be a much Redder
and more like a strawberry and you’d also expect a sore throat /
pus filled
tonsils and spots on roof of mouth-+ a high temps
The scarlet fever rash tends to start and be worse
on trunk (chest and abdomen) and spreads fast- it’s unmissable, incredibly itchy, rough, looks like sunburn. One small itchy patch on the top of back sounds more like a bite or reaction.
