How long does impetigo take to not be contagious?

My partners little girl has impetigo she’s not very compliant with the cream so the doctors said if nothing clears up then she’ll need oral however I want to have her this week but I have heard it’s highly contagious and don’t want to expose my baby to this.. can someone advice me on when it’s safec
