My little boy is 7 months old and has been having 3+ dirty nappies a day for the past week or so, when before it was 1 or 2.
he’s had a low grade temperature (37.5°C) for 2 days.
is this blood in his nappy? Freaking out slightly!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Can't see any blood in that - just looks like a normal baby nappy

littlemissalwaystired · 17/07/2023 15:04

No blood.

WeeOrcadian · 17/07/2023 15:06

I don't see blood

Are you giving paracetamol for the fever?

wateraddict · 17/07/2023 15:08

It's a bit green, teething? This always happened when my little one was in pain with teeth.

JadeW1990 · 17/07/2023 15:17

It’s a bit mucousy and there are some tiny brown specks if you zoomed in (sorry!)

@wateraddict it feels like he’s been having teething pain since he was 4 months and no teeth have cut, but yes he could be!

No blood that I can see

whatabeautifulwedding · 17/07/2023 15:50

Can't see any blood in second one either. Looks a bit mucousy if anything which my kids ones looked like when teething.

Blackoutbeans · 17/07/2023 15:53

Used to call these 'teething nappies', I think it looks fairly normal

Reugny · 17/07/2023 16:02

There is no blood.

Is he drinking milk?

Is he playing/awake like normal?

DustyLee123 · 17/07/2023 16:03

No.

fartfacenotfatface · 17/07/2023 19:12

Can't see any blood. Banana seeds maybe (small brown / black specs)?
It's always amazing what comes through a young baby undigested when you first wean them. I found a sliced mushroom in the washing machine once (we used washable nappies and the mushroom had apparently passed through my child and been washed 😂).

whatabeautifulwedding · 18/07/2023 09:49

How's baby today?

JadeW1990 · 18/07/2023 13:09

@whatabeautifulwedding hes okay today, bit whiny because of teething but only had 1 dirty nappy so far. We did see our GP yesterday and they’re querying a milk allergy, I don’t think it’s that though.

Looks normal

Caravanvirgin · 18/07/2023 13:13

Both my DCs had CMPA. I can’t see any blood in those nappies but there is a lot of mucus which is a sign of a gut been damaged, this could be caused by the virus he has had.

Is these abnormal poos for him? Is he bf or ff?

BrumBoymum · 21/07/2023 11:11

It does look mucusy, is this new? Mucus can be from teething. My DS had mucus and blood in his poo from 8 weeks his nappies were pink with brown balls ( sorry tmi) it turned out he has a milk allergy. Does your lo have any other symptoms like dry skin, excema, or vomiting?
