Awaiting paediatrics appointment. But worrying.

What could this be? My son is 2 and half now. I noticed his left eyelid moves every time he makes a sucking motion or yawn. I noticed it from the age of around 1. But now it feels like it's getting worse. His eye looks larger even when he's watching something and not moving his jaw. I don't know whether it's his eye or eyelid or what. Anybody know anything about this?

Would an optician be a quicker option? They could at least give you an indication of the issues (if you haven't already!).

This is just a normal photo of him where you can't notice it.

Best referral is to ophthalmologist paediatrician will likely just refer to them.

I have read about Marcus Gunn Jaw Winking Syndrome, and it does sound very similar.

He's beautiful.

Yes, it sounds like Marcus Gunn jaw winking. It’s due to the motor nerves not being in the right place. It doesn’t usually get worse, but droopy eyelids can if someone is tired/ill

Thank you x
