Brief run down!

1 year old
Very very snotty
Last ate 7pm yesterday
Throwing up stomach acid since the early hours of this morning
Will not take fluids happily- I've managed to get 10ml into her via syringe and she's immediately thrown it back up
One wet nappy all day today
Temp gone up from 36.4 to 37.6 in the last 2 hours, but can't keep calpol down to treat it

GP said I only need to be concerned if no wet nappies in 16 hours. But I'm not feeling too comfortable with this.

Should I take her to urgent treatment centre or leave her be for now?

Thanks in advance!

Give her an ice lolly?

Anotherdayanotherdollar · 05/07/2023 19:20

Paracetamol suppositories? I second the ice lollies

Will try an ice lolly now, thanks. Also didn't think of suppositories, I will whip to Tesco and grab some from the pharmacy. Thought she was too little for that for some reason!

Ice lollies, ice cream and jelly count as fluids. Just keep trying lil and often. Try not to get stressed as they pick up and refuse even more.

Personally I would take her to be physically seen by a doctor. She's sounds pretty unwell.

I'm not a "A&E now" person, but when ds was like that the GP told me to get over to A&E with him, and when I said I'd have to walk home (5 minutes) to get the car, he picked up the phone and called for an ambulance.

I think you do need to take them in if they're not keeping fluids down.

Having said that, with ds, I gave him 5ml every 5 minutes and that was fine, but every time the A&E nurse upped it to 10ml he immediately threw it back up, so try with a smaller amount.
