Huge baby poo

I'm just wondering if anyone knows a bit about babies doing huge poos?
So i keep wondering why from a young age my little boy has done solid hard stools.
My GP was not concerned, he said unfortunately some babies do experience solid hard poos that they have trouble passing. Even in their first few months...
He didn't want to comment on whether it could have been caused by anything.
I'm a bit of a want-to-know-it-all and I do wonder whether the air blown into him in his first minutes of life and the subsequent gas bubble found in stomach (on x ray) has anything to do with this delay in pooing, and the hard formed stools that follow.
Has anyone ever had a similar experience with their baby's hard poo and investigated it?
I think water makes it slightly easier to pass, we're weaning now so will also be seeking best foods to soften them.

TIA 😊

How old is ur little one?
What are you feeding him?

Thanks for your reply. He's always been formula fed, he's 7.5 months now.
I'm certain it upsets him in the lead up to it too. Is this common do you know?

Formula is known to cause constipation in babies, it's hard for them to digest. Prune pouches might help. The ERIC website has been really helpful for us, probably worth checking out.
