My 5 year old has had a temperature, sore throat cough and now a rash and spots on her tongue would you say it's strep a we have got an appointment today for the doctors but been reading that you don't normally get a cough with strep a

Could be, mine both had coughs when they had strep a

Been to the doctors she's got a cough sore
Throat, spits in her tongue and a sand paper
Rash but they can't say it is strep a they have told me to leave her until Friday then they will ring to see how she is!

Those symptoms sound like scarlet fever. My DD had it at Christmas and got very Ill very quickly. We ended up going to a minor injuries unit and she was given antibiotics

These symptoms are also the same as the start of Kawasaki disease. My friends child is currently in hospital for the third day after being seen twice by GP who diagnosed a throat infection
