Post Strep A problems

Hi,
my son got strep A infection about 8 weeks ago. The only reason I know is that he started having night sweats and his lymph nodes became really swollen. He was otherwise completely fine in himself. he went on 10 days amoxicillin.

fast forward to now, he still has really swollen lymph nodes and tonsils. One tonsil is getting bigger and really swollen. He is still also having night sweats.

has anyone has post strep a problems like this? I’ve been back and forth to the doctors he had another swab done and the step has gone and he’s had a scan on his lymph nodes and was fine. Bloods were also ok when he originally went in for the strep.

just wondering if strep causes troublesome swelling like this, doctors are not worried and said there isn’t anything else to do.

My dd got strep before Xmas, confirmed with a swab.
It lasted ages, She needed 3 different antibiotics
She still has one swollen tonsil, not infected though and is snoring alot more since
I'm in 2 minds about going back to the doctor, said id give it another few weeks
Have no answer for you, but just sharing similar

Thanks, it is worrying. Did they keep swabbing? My son is completely fine and apparently the strep is gone so they won’t give more antibiotics
