DD rash

DD2 (14 months) has got this blotchy red rash on the back of her legs, and a little bit on her arms. It's worst on the back of her thighs. Obviously I can speak to the Dr tomorrow but thought I'd ask here as well.

In herself, she is absolutely fine - no temp, appetite as normal, not tired or seeming ill in anyway. She's also not bothered by the rash, it doesn't seem itchy, and doesn't seem to hurt when touched. The spots disappear under a glass. It's definitely not chicken pox, she had that in April.

It's these blotchy red patches, that are smooth but slightly raised. They look a bit like a reaction to something she might have touched, and if she'd been crawling in the garden with bare legs I'd probably assume it was something like that but she's been in trousers.

Does it look familiar to anyone?

Oh bless her heart. Is she scratching at them? I was thinking hives. I’m not sure on doses of antihistamines on very little ones but maybe worth a shot? Maybe speak with doc first if they aren’t particularly troublesome this evening.

Have you tried any soothing ointments?

@Boatshoes no they don't seem to be itchy, or bothering her at all. She's just in her nappy now after her bath and there's no sign she's in any discomfort at all.

I think it looks like hives! Could be absolutely anything. I suspect it might be gone by morning xxx

And by could be absolutely anything - I mean could be anything that has caused the hives. :) my 2 come up in all sorts of wierd and wonderful rashes. Could it even be a viral rash? Has she been under the weather in the last week? I wouldn’t worry if she seems well xxx

@HappyHolidays22 she was a bit snotty earlier in the week (par for the course now she's started nursery!) so maybe it's that.
I know it's probably nothing, I'm just fussing a little more just because we're leaving for holiday tomorrow afternoon. We're not going abroad, but obviously will be harder to get her seen if it did get worse.

Ahhh no that’s rubbish! It’s always the case with little ones isn’t it! If you’re in the uk hopefully you could still be seen by someone if needed. When we went to Scotland and needed to see someone I just turned up at the local drs and explained the situation and the dr saw us. Not ideal but hey.

hopefully the rash is cleared by the morning! Have a great holiday xxx
