I took my 13 year old son to the GP today after he came home from school early complainin of groin pain. We went to the GP they examined him and they have sent us for a "urgent scan" how long does an urgent scan take? In the meantime he has to take antibiotics for a possible infection

Urgent scan for a child - next day possibly? Could you call the GP tomorrow and clarify or call the hospital and chase the appointment?

My urgent NHS scan was 1 month. I then went private for the operation. Obviously if your son has severe symptoms, you could take him to A&E where they should be able to do instant scans.
