Regular choking

Hi, I’m contacting my GP about this tomorrow but just wanted to pick the Mumsnet hive mind too.

My three year old has choked three times in the last six months. I’m talking properly unable to breathe, terror in eyes choking. Hard back slaps has sorted it each time but I’m staring to think it’s not normal for it to be happening this often.

Other issues that may be linked…

He coughs to the point of vomiting at night every time he has even a mild cold

Bad gag reflex (tooth brushing is a nightmare)

Snores

Any ideas or words of advice / reassurance?

How scary @Springbaby2023 - what are his tonsils like? My neighbours DD (aged 5) had this and they went to see an ENT consultant and all was fine. I remember she couldn’t swallow and it happened several times. I’m sorry but I can’t recall if it was to do with tonsils but check your DC. Definitely speak with your GP for advice though.
