High b12

I have to see the constitut at the hospital on Wednesday my aniexty so high and last time my son had bloods done he was high in b12 they retest him and he was high again 3 months later and nothing been done for a year and the other day I got a call from hospital saying he has an appointment due to the high b12 my anxiety so high he only 5 years old has anyone kid ever had high b12 without supplements and been fine

Yes years ago and I was reassured by consultant that it was relatively common and nothing to worry about.

There seem to be a few children out there who get this test result. I have asked around at conferences + teaching and to a consultant paediatric haematologist: no link to any actual medical disorder. There have been a few threads on Mumsnet, none of the children ended up with a serious diagnosis that I know of.

Hi. Im so glad hear ur son is okay. My son funnily enough also has high b12 and folate everything else was fine. His b12 is around 810 - can i ask what ur sons b12 level was ? Im so worried and have to wait 2 weeks to see the dr about this.

And just to elaborate - it’s commin in children their age? does this settle on its own then?

my little one has just been referred for high B12, everything else is within normal range. I’ve googled and am panicking. Seeing Consultant next week

My daughters just had a routine blood test and I got a call from the GP as her B12 is 952. I’m so worried after googling it!! Any advice?

How high was your little one’s reading? What did the consultant say? I’m stressed out as my daughter has just had her reading done and it’s B12, it was only routine blood work as she has bad eczema!!
