GOSH vs Evelina

Does anyone have an first hand info about the care in both hospitals?

My baby has a serious cardiac condition and is in our local hospital who are in contact with GOSH but I feel that they are dragging their feet and we're not getting anywhere.
I'm considering going private and have seen that Evelina also have a private wing so could go to them too.

Does anyone have any experience with cardiology in either hospital?

My daughter was under cardiology at GOSH, not private though, for several years until she was moved over to Barts for adult care.

GOSH is excellant. My daughter was not keen on her consultant but wishes she was still seeing him as not impressesd with Barts.

If you are on Facebook there is a very good group called Patches. There are some in there who are seen at Evelina.

Private children's cardiology is mainly geared at overseas patients (and can get very expensive as a result especially if inpatient care) - have you gone through the gears exploring the problems in discussion with your specialist consultant?

Both are very highly regarded hospitals for this type of care.

Depends on the specific cardiac issue but overall Evelina has the edge on specialists.

If you mean they are dragging the decision on a surgery option then it usually works via Multi Trust panels that meet every week and generally make decisions based on urgency, obviously emergency cases get pushed up first.
I would consider writing to the panel via your local hospital/paediatric liasion or cardiologist about your concerns and perhaps CC PALS first.
