My child is having a neck ultrasound tomorrow for some persistent swollen lymph nodes in their neck.
ENT consultant wasn’t concerned anything sinister was going on which is very reassuring but I just want the confirmation that everything is okay.
Feeling abit worried, just want it to be over and done with!!!

Sending you a ((hug)). I had the same issue about 10 years ago and all was fine. The lymph nodes were swollen for about a year and then just went back to normal. It was a relief to have the ultrasound as I’d been worried about them.

DS had this last May and I worried sick but very quickly the ultrasound tech let me know that the lump was enlarged lymph nodes. I know the feeling very well that you are going through now but there's a good chance it will be something harmless. Try and sleep well and focus on the likelihood the lump will be nothing to worry about.

He still has the lump also - it comes and goes especially if he's unwell

Thanks mums. He had sepsis in January and has had it since then. In April an a&e consultant seemed slightly concerned at the size so the GP referred us the next day for this ultrasound however it defiantly hasn’t got bigger. His ENT consultant he’s seen since birth wasn’t concerned about it at all but told us to go to the appointment anyway. I think I just need to hear that it’s nothing to worry about x

Bless you that must've been frightening. Great that the lump hasn't grown - a good sign that it's nothing scary. Keep us updated.

Hi all,

would you guys go for bloodwork after ultrasound came back normal for persistent small palpable lymph nodes on a child?
