Hairy toddler!

Firstly I just want to say that I have absolutely no issue with body hair, my worries are not cosmetic. My 2.5 year old dd has always been on the hairy side, as she shares my dark features. But the hair on her legs has started to get quite long and it’s concerning me a little. It’s only visible in certain lights, she has a fluffy back too but very light short hair on her arms. She’s pretty healthy otherwise and hitting all her milestones.

My mum tells me I was a hairy baby / child too and I do distinctly remember having long very dark leg hairs at about age 6, and being teased as a child too about it, but even so 2.5 seems quite young? Just looking for reassurance more than anything, does anyone else’s dd have this? Pic for reference.

Thank you x

So if your worries aren’t cosmetic, what exactly are they?

hair is normal, some skin colours/ethnicities are hairier or more obvious than others.

btw she doesn’t look particularly hairy from the photos.

Thanks for the reply! It’s mainly just that she seems quite young to have it? I wonder could it be a sign of an underlying issue is all.

Thanks for the reply 🙂 did your 8 year old have it when they were younger too or has it just started? Just wondering how common it is I guess!
