Monday night we were in hospital withmy 3 Yr old as he had a fever, wasn't eating or drinking, had been sick in the night.
We were there for16hrs doing fluid challenge and monitoring. Told one tonsil was swollen. Then sent home. Wed he got worse. Floppy and not drinking again. Gp sent him straight back to hospital. Again just forced fluids. This time applejuice as his blood sugar was low. Finally prescribed antibiotics and sent home.
He's had 2 days worth but is still lethargic . When should d he improve? Should they have done more?

Should start improving anytime soon but are you still keeping them hydrated? Jelly ice pops all count as liquid

Hi op experienced nurse here. Your son will improve within the next few days.. keep giving him fluids as much as u can.. I also recommend ice lollies to.

I hope he gets better soon 🙏🏼

Thanks so much! I think Im. Just running on little sleep so more stressed than usual. He's had some strawberries and a sandwich. He's drinking some ice cold water. Had about 3 cup fulls so far. He refuses lollies 🤷‍♀️ but I'll keep trying. I think he has hayfever too which isn't helping. I gave some kids antihistamine and his eyes are less red now
