I'd say horsefly maybe..

LadyGardenersQuestionTime · 14/06/2023 20:01

Potentially - they're not the classic bullseye but then not everyone gets those. Do you think it's likely he's been bitten by a tick that has then fallen off?

UndertheHawthornTree86 · 14/06/2023 20:01

I'd say so - you can see the bullseye beginning.

The pic on the left looks a bit too much like a classic bull’s eye / target rash for my liking- i’d want it checked by a nurse practitioner at gp I think.

That's my feeling too, it look too much like it could be for my to leave it unchecked

Possibly yes. Horsefly bites itch a lot.

bedcovers · 14/06/2023 20:14

Thanks all. I find it odd there's one on each leg that have both appeared on the same day, plus I've not seen a tick at all. She's bathed every day & although I appreciate ticks are small I'm sure I would have noticed one. Will contact Docs anyway.

So doc didn't think they were Tick bites. One bite has gone down a lot, whereas the other remains looking as below. Doc didn't want to give antibiotics as it's a 3 week course & she really wasn't convinced it was a Tick bite which I get. However now DD said she has a sore throat 🤦‍♀️ could be nothing but how am I not supposed to put 2 & 2 together.. Doc did say to keep an eye & in the next few days if she develops a temp then they will give antibiotics regardless.

when I have had a tick ‘attached’ they can hang on quite strongly even when showering, sleeping etc. I have always had to physically remove them.

Ladyj84 · 11/03/2024 22:40
