I was in a@e from 7ish last night until 11 today with my youngest who is 3. He'd had a fever and was lethargic with a rapid heartbeat . He didn't wee all day abd was dehydrated. He has a swollen tonsil/tonsillitis but not given antibiotics as its supposedly viral.
He's got worse again and is refusing g all efforts to get fluids down. He's now got the runs and is lethargic again. No temp though.

Finally got him settled for bed but I feel so stressed. He's had tonsillitis 3 or 4 times before and nearly every time ended up needing antibiotics as it really makes him ill. Just can't stop worrying and I'm so tired. I guess I need a rant and to know I'm doing all I can. Felt lost at the hospital as it was so busy and were kind of left to give water every 10 mins as a fluid challenge but it was tough. Didn't feel very reassured

All my sympathies as I could have written this ☹️
my DD is the same, she always needs antibiotics for tonsillitis and every time it feels like we go 3
days of back and forth to gp and a&e before she breaks out in a rash and they go “oh it’s strep throat and now scarlet fever” 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️Try and rest when you can tonight and back to gp tomorrow to say no better and runs are symptom of strep A as is lethargy. They also note # of
times a parent presents with their child at gp or a& r for an illness so going back again should push them to prescribe antibiotics it sounds like he needs them. Reinforce he’s not better and was downhill again tonight. wishing you luck and sending a handhold
Tonight xx

Thanks so much for your kind words. I feel like the doctors think I'm crazy sometimes. His tongue is like this today. He managed to finally sleep but still not at all well. Will contact my gp

Well ended up back in hospital after a go looked at him and said take him straight there. He was floppy and refused all fluids
His sugar levels were low but after hrs of deliberation they finally prescribed antibiotics and sent us home. Yesterday he started getting some dots on his feet and hands. Slightly on his arm and armpits but they didthi kmuch of it. Today it looks like this and is slightly raised/rough
