Light sensitivity in toddler

rainydays12 · 31/05/2023 21:44

My three year old is suddenly very sensitive to light in one eye. When he wakes in the morning he struggles to open his eye for a good 10 minutes. Then when we went out for our evening walk he started crying for his sunglasses as the sun was hurting his eye. I'm awaiting a referral to ophthalmology from our GP but was wondering if anyone else's toddler has the same issue. TIA Grin

Absolutely fine in himself. No fever/rash or any other symptoms. x

My husband has this and found out he has a foreign body in his eye. I think it needs checking asap- can you go to an and e tomorrow maybe? That’s what the optician told my husband to do

I'd go to the emergency department of an eye hospital for a check up. If you are in london or south east moorfields do an emergency children's eye centre for a&e type issues

The GP checked his eye but couldn't see any thing in it. I could still take him to A&E tomorrow if it's still happening x
