Differin for warts

My 4 YO has had warts for a while which have now spread to her face. We’ve tried many over the counter/natural solutions (on ones on her hands) which haven’t worked and we now have an appt with a dermatologist but we have to wait 2 months because of waiting lists… 🙈 Apparently a common recommendation from dermatologists is to use Differin/acne cream. Has anyone got experience of this and what were the results? How did you use it etc?

No. Do not use high strength products on a 4 year old.
is there any way you can stretch to seeing a private dermatologist

if spread to her face, will continue to.

and to other children at nursery or school

My daughter had loads on her feet. We tried loads of stuff, until we got a proper old school GP who told us to cover them in duct tape. Cover, pumice, cover, repeat.

worked a treat - my other daughter has one on her finger just now that’s slowly disappearing with the same process.

I doubt he’d have suggested for facial warts

No, of course not, but the OP said she had some on her hands which has caused the spread to her face 🙄

Sounds like planter warts op

Definitely needs a dermatologist. Good luck

I know not to use high strength products and won’t do!

The 2 month waiting list is also for private appointments, it’s ridiculous right now!

Acne cream tends to be very high strength

sannvegas · 27/05/2023 09:05

Thank you but we have tried this and many many things but it hasn’t worked for us.

I am purely asking re Differin

Not approved for use by anyone under 12

sannvegas · 27/05/2023 09:09

Yeah I wouldn’t use it unless told to by a dermatologist, just interested to hear if anyone has had this experience
