4 year old tight foreskin

Hi

I've got a DS who's 4 and his foreskin is incredible tight. He frequently gets UTI's. My DH is american and was circumcised when he was born so he can't give advice.

Is it something that will sort itself out or will he need to be circumcised?

Any help would be appreciated.

DH had issues as a child. He ended up being circumcised around age 10 because it was too tight.

Check with your GP. My ds1 had a "loosening" operation which isn't as dramatic as full circumcision and might be worth a try.

Did his tightness start from birth? How did that affect him when he was peeing?

If his foreskin is too tight, i'd much rather get him circumcised as early as possible if circumcision is the only fix.

Son had a steroid cream last year to help loosen it. Although he’s older than yours so no idea if they’d just go for the loosening operation for your son. Either way best to see the GP

Yep GP. My son had the same, had several infections under his foreskin too. We had a referral and were prescribed a steroid cream and told to do stretching exercises. But also told he might need to be circumcised.

After about 18 months of creams, exercises, 3 monthly appointments with consultant, he was discharged and has been fine since. But it all took years, so get going now.

Speak to the Gp now. My son had that issue and after years of UTIs , he ended up getting circumcised age 11 which was quite difficult. If he needs circumcision, the younger the easier
