Hiya,

There has been outbreaks of chickenpox at my daughters school for the last couple of months, so I have been keeping an eye out. But noticed this week she had a spot on the top of her pelvis. It is literally one spot and there has been no complaining or anything. I just thought it was a spot until my mum see it and said she thought it looked like chickenpox. I thought chickenpox would come out in loads of spots. I have attached a picture just wondered what other people thought?

Hi op - are there any spots behind your child’s ears ?

AssertiveGertrude · 20/05/2023 12:22

It might be - my children only got a few spots and then nothing for a couple of weeks then a really bad doing with them

dementedpixie · 20/05/2023 12:23

Is it blistering or is it just a spot?

Similar one to this behind her leg. Picture attached.

@AssertiveGertrude she has these weird white spots behind her ear. But they are behind both ears so I’m thinking is it just part of her ear 🤣🤣

@dementedpixie it started off more like a spot , I don’t remember it blistering. She has a 2 year old brother so I’m assuming if it was a mild case of chickenpox she has had I will find out in two weeks as he would be sure to get it?

That made me laugh op 😆
well I think your best bet is to wait and wait some more - it’s a pain in the backside as they take ages to actually come out

a pharmacist may advise you if you don’t need a gp - we eventually had to go to a gp as ds got them so bad (his second only ever visit to gp since he was a baby)

Looking again at the first one that’s what it looked like for us and since they are so contagious and doing the rounds it’s highly likely - may sure not to give your child ibruprofen / nurofen

calpol is ok

@AssertiveGertrude I shall wait and see. Thank you for your help 😊
