Radiation from wifi devices

Accidentally had my echo show next to my newborns crib ( approximately 40 cms away from crib and in total 60 cms away from his head) I didn’t realise for 5 weeks that this could have impacted his health ie emf and rf radiation, this is just what I have read on the internet, is this scaremongering or should I be worried about the radiation impacting him in some way? First time mum after previous late losses, I know Google isn’t my friend but I’m so scared of everything

It's scaremongering, don't let it frighten you. A lightbulb gives off far more radiation than any home wifi device.

If it worries you, move it, but please don't fret over what has already happened.

No issues, but if this and others genuinely freaks you out you may need to seek some help as it may help your child when they are older, normal caution is good but this thinking sounds more than that

I wouldn't worry, presumably when your baby is in the crib the Echo is pretty much dormant and not being used anyway, unless you say something to wake it up.

It's absolutely scaremongering. I fully get why you're so anxious though, and help is out there to support you in managing it. You must be exhausted with the worry, but it can get better. Might be worth a chat with your gp.

EMF uses microwave radiation.

Microwaves are longer wavelength and less damaging/harmful than, for example, visible light waves.

If you have let visible light fall on your child, being next to Alexa shouldn't worry you.

(I know, but microwave ovens use a magnetron to concentrate multiple microwaves. Then all they do is make the water molecules vibrate more = heat up. Don't put your baby in the microwave).

Sorry, not too sympathetic there.

Sleep deprivation can make people (me included) think some bonkers things.

This is not something to worry about
