Acne in children

Anyone had experiences of children getting acne? My 5 year old has had a few spots on their face, we have been cleaning their face, using spot cream and washing daily.
Still had another 2 come up on their cheeks, I will wash all the bedding today and might change the pillow case a few times a week.

Just read it can be due to other medical issues and is unusual in kids?

I wouldn't use spot cream unless its something bland like sudacrem. At 5 I'd say it's either an illness (my DS has a few spots after getting a cold recently) or an allergy of some kind. Could be allergic to washing powder, soaps, moisturizer or something they're eating.

I would clean with water only for a week and see if that helps.

@Hairbrushhandle we are on the wait list for allergy testing so you might be right that it’s linked!

Those acne products can actually cause acne! What I have learned for skin care is less is more. I had a tiny break out, which I then started using acne products, which made my skin worse and worse. Finally I stopped using and realised certain things in my diet caused breakouts as well, like too much fat or sugar and then I was fine. But I agree with the pp its probably an illness rash or allergic reaction.
