Pain after diarrhoea

My DD 12 has had what can only be described as explosive diarrhoea all day since the early hours of this morning. It’s since stopped since about 6. I think it’s probably a bug and I’m not to worried about that. I’ve been giving her plenty of juice to keep hydrated.

Anyways the issue is she’s now complaining on bum pain she says it’s stinging and cramping (like her period cramps). It looks red raw and sore. I’ve put on some Protection H anal cream and she said that feels like it’s burned her but only lasted a few minutes. It eased before we were going to wash it off.

im wondering if she’s just irritated the skin from the diarrhoea and wiping excessively. Anyone got any input? TIA

I agree she has irritated the skin and the cream (or even normal nappy cream) will ease things. It’s quite normal.

She has my smpathy I have had similar and can only describe it as being wiped with crushed glass. I am not sure if you can get sudacream in the uk but I found that helpful. It is a nappy cream. Also I used water in one of those disposable water bottles with a sports top to wash rather than having to wipe too much. (Sorry for tmi).

@purplecorkheart perfect thank you. She’s in the bath at the moment washing off the cream then we will put suder cream on her after she soaks in the bath. I’ll get a bottle out and try that tonight but I think she’s fairly empty now after about 15 times on the loo today
