22mo has painful spot/lump on her back

Hopefully looking for a bit of insight - toddler woke up with what appeared to be a spot this morning, lower back practically in line with her spine.

Fast fwd to this evening & she keeps reaching behind herself saying "back, back", the spot has somewhat hardened to a small lump & is incredibly painful for her, to the point where i couldn't lay her down to change her nappy.

It doesn't look anything untoward, albeit I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking for? 🤷🏻‍♀️

any ideas? TIA x

Forgot to mention - the redness around it had spread more across her lower back by bedtime. Shes not been herself at all today, very irritable & emotional, & very tired x
