Another week and another illness! Little (9 months) has come down with chickenpox last Friday so on day 5. They look really angry to me and I don’t remember the older ones skin being so red, do you guys think this is just a normal course of chicken pox?

I'd get him checked over by a GP if I were you. Just in case any are infected.

Aww poor little thing. It does look like fairly typical CP to me. It's a shame she's under 1 year because then you could use antihistamines.

The good thing at this age is that she won't scratch them and cause scars as much as if she were older.

Poor thing! By day 5 the blisters should be “crusting over” - have any started to do that, and heal up? I agree it looks very angry 😥

His face is even worse 😭😭 he’s so upset by it all. We think he’s got some in his mouth as he’s not eating. There’s a couple on his forehead that have crusted over but more just keep appearing.

Is LO drinking?

RENO24 · 16/05/2023 16:22

Drinking minimal amount of formula - no solid food, going to go out and get some
ice lollies later to see if he’ll take one of those.

If he's not drinking I'd call 111. He may need IV - kids this young dehydrate v quickly.
