Lyme Disease

My daughter was recently diagnosed with Lyme Disease after months of not understanding what was going on with her. I just saw this new film will be available to stream this week and think it could be a great resource for parents. I don't think there is enough awareness and conversation about Lyme considering there are more cases than breast cancer and HIV combined, and children under age 16 are most affected.

Very sorry to hear this, I hope she manages to shake it off completely. My neighbour had it probably about 25 years ago- wasn't diagnosed until she went to see a consultant because of pains in her joints and he suggested testing for it. She was cured. Another friend up the road has chronic Lyme disease and I know of several other people who have had it detected at the rash stage.

The ticks are very common here (Dorset). Most days between March and October I pick up one or two whenever I go out in my garden (we live out of town) - one day last year I had 8 of the little blighters on me. When the kids were little I had to inspect them every evening at bath time. I've been lucky so far - make me livid that there isn't a human vaccine yet, one was abandoned years ago due to lack of funding, and now there's another tick bourne disease coming into the country.
