Hello,

My 12 week old is having surgery tomorrow for Laryngomalacia. It's called a Supraglottoplasty
Anyone have any experience with this and some reassurance please? Very anxious as he's so little.
Thankyou x

Hi

how did your little one get on with the surgery? I also have an 11 week old with LM who seems to be getting worse so I think we will be heading down the surgery route.

@Danniellalsx hey! Ahh I'm
Sorry to hear that. He had the surgery and it's transformed things! He's still a bit noisy, but feeds brilliantly now! I hope
You get it all sorted xxx

Hello @mumtoboys12
Sorry - I know your original post was some time ago now. I just wondered if you could share your experiences so the Supraglottoplasty. My 11 week old has confirmed Laryngomalacia but is due to have a camera inserted under general Anaesthetic to rule out any issues further down (there are signs of possible other malacia further down) - the consultant said she will probably do the Supraglottoplasty procedure whilst she is ‘down there’ and I wondered how your little one coped with the initial recovery from this procedure? Our consultant said he should be back to normal by the next day… I have a very happy baby who feeds reasonably well, sleeps very well and who’s reflux symptoms are well managed with meds so I am a bit nervous about how this procedure will affect him!
