Lump and inverted nipple

Just posting for advice or if anyone's little girl has had similar.

So my dd is 4 years old and this morning I've noticed she has a lump behind her right nipple, also the same nipple is inverted.
I've been Googling and it's actually worried me a little.

I'm going to call the doctors first thing tomorrow morning. Just wanting to know if anyone's else's little one has had this and what it was?

Did you get an update @belle1903? I would've thought hormones, but she's only 4. Hope you have an answer and it's nothing to worry about

The doctor did say hormone related but wasn't to sure due to her age. He's sent an urgent referral to the endocrinologist at the children's hospital

@Blossomandblooms thank you so much.
She's being tested for precocious puberty. She's had an hand X-ray today to check her bone she and will maybe need blood tests to check her hormone levels, depending what the X-ray shows. X

At about 2 or 3, my dd had the same thing.

She saw a paediatrician who said that the nipple lump was hormonal and would go away by itself within a year, which it did.

Dd also had a hand X-ray which showed up nothing noteworthy.

Obviously, the time between referral and results was really stressful though.

Good luck.

belle1903 · 26/05/2023 20:21

@Littlefish the paediatrician told us it can be normal for 1-3 year old but not usually 4 year olds. I'm hoping we get the same outcome your dd got.

Glad all went well and it went for your dd
