Does this sound like a stomach bug?

Hi.
My 5 year old son woke up with a sore throat yesterday, was perfectly fine in himself. After school his temperature was 39 degrees, he was complaining of a headache, sore throat and stomach pain.
A couple of hours later he vomited. He seemed much better after this. He said his other symptoms has gone.
He slept all night. But had vomited twice today.
Does this sound like a stomach bug or something else?

It sounds like it could be tonsilitis, my children always get sore stomachs and can vomit when they get it.

My first thought also tonsillitis - very high temp, stomach pains and vomiting always when my daughter gets it. Check the back of his throat in the morning. Often it's a bit of a head scratcher until the white spots come up, it can take a day or 2 xx

Although just noted you said other symptoms went away - that's not usual for tonsillitis, if it's that his sore throat will be horrendous and just get worse and worse x

Yes his sore throat has gone now. Only lasted 24 hours.
He has stated with flushed cheeks though now, plus an itchy rash on his neck.

Probably sick from the temperature and being unwell. Doesn't sound like a stomach bug to me.

He’s been dry heaving this morning. 😞

Slapped cheek virus perhaps. I've forgotten it's proper name but symptoms sound like it

I was thinking that. But his sister gas started with diarrhoea so presuming it’s some kind of stomach bug.

Even though the site throat only lasted one day and no rash?
