Strange itchy rash

Hi,
DS (9) has a rash on various parts of his body which is itchy and spreading. He has just come back from a woodland camping trip and said he was freezing cold in his sleeping bag so I thought it can't be heat rash. I have attached photos.
Checked his temp and it's very low at 35. He doesn't seem to have any other symptoms.
He says he doesn't feel well enough to go to school. Is he playing ne up?! But what's the rash? Has anyone else's DCs got this?
Thanks x

Could be lots of bites if he was outside

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 11/05/2023 07:55

Was he rolling around in the undergrowth? Could be irritant contact dermatitis. Got any antihistamines?

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 11/05/2023 07:56

They look like bites rather than a rash. Anthisan and antihistamines would be the first thing I'd try.

https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/hypothermia/

This says hypothermia (temp below 35) is a medical emergency and needs to be treated in hospital. I’d be more worried about that than the rash/bites

Thanks everyone. It's a weird one. I thought bites but they're spreading. I can try antihistamines. He says he wasn’t rolling around in the undergrowth. I will re-take his temp now. He says he feels cold on the inside and hot on the outside?! I think it's a virus.

Just re-taken his temp and happy to report it's now 36.7!
