Hello

my baby is 14 months and has has a persistent cough since the start of Jan after an episode of strep A

Shes had 4 courses of antibiotics that do help. I had to go private in the end as the gp would only give week long antibiotics at a time and a pedriatric respiratory consultant said it was likely to be PBB, he prescribed co-amoxicillin for a month and she was cough free after 3 days and stayed like that for the full length of the course.

She finished the course last Wednesday and started coughing again on Saturday. It’s horrific I’m so tired and feel so sorry for her. She was coughing every 5 minutes last night.

Has anyone else had a similar experience with PBB?

Im reluctant for her to go on antibiotics again and as the doctor is expensive I want to check before going back to him.

thanks in advance

Hi, sorry I can't help but my daughter has had an awful cough for nearly 2 months and finding my gp pretty useless. Worried it could be pbb and just wondering how they diagnosed it? Did you get it resolved in the end?

She’s gradually got better, I’ve been given her Manuka honey every day 2 x 2.5ml and it seems to keep it at bay. I’d definitely recommend it as it’s sounds like Ppb.
