I feel like a terrible mum.

DS was a little unwell last week with a tummy bug. I think he caught something at a birthday party we attended the weekend before (I also became unwell too).

I tried my absolute best to keep him super clean down there with the runny poos, rinsed him under the shower a few times etc. but they were so runny that it would end up all over him.

This morning, he started holding his nappy and whimpering and when I checked, he was so sore down there. Poor thing…I feel horrible. I obviously didn’t clean him as well as I should have.

The weird thing is, the night before I checked him in the bath and he was absolutely fine, so it’s come on so fast.

Anyway, we managed to see an out of hours GP today and he has prescribed him a steroid/antifungal cream for thrush, which I just applied before bed. Also given him some calpol. Fingers crossed it works.

Just wanted to see if anyone has had a similar experience and any tips that have worked for them?

He’s had his nappy off almost all day and I’ve been cleaning up pee constantly but I’d rather he feel comfortable. I’ve just put a nappy on him now before bed, and I’m worried it might cause more irritation. Just not sure how to avoid that?
