Gluten intolerance in 12 year old?

My 12 year old son has been having stomach problems for some time - an upset stomach after a lot of things he eats. I haven't been taking too much notice (I remember my nephew having similar and loads of not very nice tests done and then he outgrew it and I was trying to avoid it). That is his only problem. Firstly, could this be a problem with gluten and secondly as presumably the next step is to cut out gluten, any suggestions of the better gluten free foods? Finally, should we just cut out all gluten and wait for an improvement or go to a doctor first?

Go to the doctors first as you need to have alot of gulten present for the blood test to work

Gluten tests can be unreliable even if you eat lots of gluten the month before.

Thank you. I didn't know there was such a thing as a gluten test. I'll make a drs appointment.

You need a TTG test for coeliac disease - do not cut out gluten until this has been done.
