Behavioural optometry - is it a useful/valid option for ADHD?

My 13 yo DS’s school have suggested it might be useful for him to see a behavioural optometrist. He has ADHD, is on medication which we are still adjusting, and has apparently told the SENCO that the words sometimes dance on the page when he’s reading (though he’s never mentioned this before!).
He is very bright and succeeding at school when he is concentrating well enough, and has never had any issues with reading/writing so I’d be surprised if he is dyslexic, though it’s in the family.
I’m slightly sceptical about behavioural optometry having had a look online, and it would probably be expensive which is a concern, but don’t want to miss something which might be useful. Does anyone have experience?

I know this is an old thread but we are in a similar situation, but DD does not have ADHD. Did you pursue this option?
