So since Friday my 13 month old has had a high temp and was a little irritable so I put it down to teething and gave her some Calpol and she was fine. Normally when she's like that, Calpol or ibuprofen always does the trick and she's fine after a day but as I said it's been since Friday and todays Tuesday and she's still getting a high temp which does go down when I give her meds. Because it's only a high temp I didn't think I needed to call the GP as she was showing no other symptoms apart from the high temps which was around 38. I did read that if the temp goes on for more than 5 days then to get in contact with your GP which today would be the 5th day. So last night as I was giving her a bath before bed, I noticed she has a rash all over her tummy and on her back, it was reddish spots which I actually remember my 4 year old having when he had a fever which was a viral rash and I supposed to be quite common so I thought it might be the same thing but this morning I noticed it going really blotchy almost like it's "smudged" and I've now realised it's gone up to her neck and scalp. I've done the meningitis test and that's ruled out but being the 5th day and to be on the safe side I called my GP. They said the dr will call back this afternoon at around 2-3pm. So basically what I wanna ask is, has anyone had this happen to their little one and should I be worried? Other then the high temp and rash she seems fine in herself like she's off playing as usual but when the temp goes high she does start getting clingy and irritable but the rash doesn't seem to be bothering her at all.
