Chicken Pox, Croup and Steroids

My daughter came out in chicken pox on Friday, she was very poorly and ended up in hospital with possible sepsis - all ok now.

Whilst I was in hospital with her my son has come down with croup, I took him to the doctors and they have given him a shot of dexamethasone (steroids) to help him get over croup.

I mentioned that my daughter had chicken pox and he had been in contact with her and I’m aware that steroids and chicken pox are a dangerous mix and he will be in his incubation period of chicken pox.

Has anyone taken steroids whilst they have the chicken pox virus and will he be ok?
