so a bit of a long post but three weeks ago my son had a swollen lymph node on the back of his head and a little patch of dry skin with hair missing, at the time I was more worried about the bump on the back of his head as it was pretty swollen so headed to the doctors I was just told use fucidin H cream and that his head was probably irritated causing a swollen node (didn’t even know we had them there ) anyway so used the cream for two weeks it did nothing infact the bald patch got larger and more dry although the lymph node has gone down a lot but is still there slightly, I headed to a&e as he devolved more spots on his back and neck and it was bank holiday weekend and I was worried they told me it was ringworm of the scalp and he would need medication to get rid but they couldn’t give me them under guidelines so I headed to the gp Tuesday when it opened and she didn’t think it was ring worm because it didn’t glow bright green under a light? I asked did she want to do anymore tests but she Gave antifungals to try for a week, or two very casual about it. He has been having the medicine and hasn’t had any nasty side effects and the spots have definitely cleared up a fair bit but my main concern is the bald patch I don’t want him to loose hair completely I’ve been told I can’t get his hair cut until it’s gone so that’s not even an option he’s in year 6 so children aren’t very nice and I just want it sorted, does anyone have any experience with this? I don’t really want him to carry on with the antifungals if can be helped but google is saying this is my only option? Thanks for anyone who’s listened I know it’s mega long x

Hi, it just ended up going on its own i got him another hair cut which helped. But it turns out it was from the barbers we were taking him to so since this we’ve gone to a much cleaner and better barbers the one we were using I never saw barbacide out should have been a red flag! Xx
