Do I stop the antibiotics?

Hi All, bit of a long one, sorry in advance.

My little girl is 15 months. Since December she has suffered with recurring ear infections. She is currently on her 7th course of antibiotics, co-amoxiclav for 2 weeks (she’s done 8 days so far). She has been really unwell over the weekend… we ended up in A&E as her GP wasn’t happy with how she looked. They put it down to her ears (even though she’d already been on the antibiotics for 3 days) and a viral respiratory infection. Whilst at A&E the consultant mentioned she probably shouldn’t have been given so many antibiotics as ear discharge without a temperature isn’t an active infection.

Luckily she is almost back to 100% herself apart from Monday when she started getting a rash on her tummy. Doc thinks it’s viral but I think it’s an allergy. Her cough has worsened since having the rash and she also keeps wakening up with swollen eyes. I started her on an antihistamine yesterday and today it looks much better but yesterday I noticed she also has a white coating on her tongue. Googling tells me this could be because of the antibiotics. I don’t think her allergy is because of the antibiotics but at the same time I’ve no idea what has caused it.

My question is do you think I should stop the antibiotics? She’s had 8 days so far and I feel they’re now doing more harm than good. Especially now the consultant told me she shouldn’t have had so many! I feel like her immune system has taken a massive hit and I feel the need to try and build her gut microbiome back up again! What would you do?
