Very sensitive skin 3/4 weeks post chicken pox

I was wondering if anyone’s little one had suffered from incredibly sensitive skin after having chicken pox. My 4 year old has never had an issue with his skin before but 3/4 ish weeks post chicken pox he’s screamed with agony when certain things touch his skin. It seems to only be certain things that set it off (walking into the sea - hurt his legs, lotion on his torso - lotions designed for very dry, sensitive skin - ones the pharmacy recommended for chicken pox, so not fragranced, very medicinal, suncream) but he screams in agony for a few minutes with the pain. Other things are fine - the salt water swimming pool, shampoo in the bath…Hoping it will fade with time and until then I’m going to try and avoid anything on his skin where I can but wondered if anyone had experienced similar or had any recommendations. Thinking it could just be very sensitive nerves and they might settle? Thanks in advance.
