Hi everyone,

for the last week my daughter has had really rosy cheeks. She is prone to getting quite rosy when outside or too hot but this has been permanent! She’s not unwell. Anyone have any ideas? Rosacea (I have this mildly), eczema?

thank you 🙏🏼

Meant to add that it’s been more pronounced than this and seems to come and go. This picture is when it was more bright red.

Slapped cheek syndrome??

Noodle14 · 11/04/2023 17:31

Thanks! hadn't thought of that! I guess it could be…she’s not been unwell though 🤔

Mine had it and wasn't unwell, either. Also called Fifth Disease.

Hope they're better soon!

Thanks @OldTinHat Did you go to the doctors? I don’t want to waste their time. Do you remember how long the rash lasted?

I did take mine to the doctors, but it was a long time ago now. They said calpol and moisturising cream. My DC had eczema so I just slathered on more cream.

OldTinHat · 11/04/2023 18:29

I think the rash lasted about ten days.

Really appreciate your replies. Thank you 🙏🏼

Just found this if it helps.

Just wanted to bump this as I don’t think it’s slapped cheek, she still has it so it’s been too long. Anyone have any ideas? Like I said in my first post she can get a bit rosy in cold weather. We went to Norway n Feb and it was very cold and very windy, I feel like she’s been pretty red since. Could she have damaged her skin somehow? I was a bit worried about rosacea but the doctor (who only saw pictures) said he didn’t feel it was looking or behaving like rosacea and that it must be slapped cheek but this was 2 weeks ago and no change. I’d really appreciate any thoughts, for sone reason I’m really overly emotional about it 🥲 TIA x

That's keratosis Polaris rubra faceii. Google it. Does she have spots on her arms? Sadly no treatment and permanent

Can anyone please help me ! My little boy is 3 and as far as I can remember he gets red cheeks and ears on and off through out the day… some times just cheeks sometimes just ears sometimes 1 cheek and 1 ear! I thought it was due to him being warm everyone I no as said it’s just what some kids do .. I took him to the GP who said he gets like this because he’s got fair skin and hair .. but I’m not convinced at all and I suffer with health anxiety … I keep googling and all I find is slap cheek but he’s had it for years so it’s not that 🙏
