DS developed a rash on his chin about 5 weeks ago. I thought it was where his coat had rubbed on his chin (possibly wet after chewing it). It was red and quite raw.
I tried sudacreme but it didn’t help. It became angrier and developed a yellow crust so I thought it was impetigo. For reasons at this point I can’t quite remember, I started using an anti fungal cream on it which really made a difference. The crustiness and most of the redness cleared so we continued. We used that for a good couple of weeks but it didn’t clear entirely and every time we stopped the anti fungal cream, it became red and inflamed again. The skin was dry and chapped now and the redness remained.
He saw a ANP at our surgery who said it was contact demetitis and to use E45 cream. We’ve been using that for a week and it’s literally the same, no improvement.
