6mo vomiting in sleep

DD currently suffering from a cold (thanks to older brother and nursery germs). Very very very snotty nose and a bit of coughing at night. She's therefore waking up at night more often than normal and only BF soothes her.

Last night I fed her, laid her back down in her cot, and went back to my room. She normally settles herself back to sleep within 5min, but she was fussing about in and out of sleep and then after 30min I could see through the monitor her being sick. It was absolutely loads, all over her/her sheets. After cuddling her fell asleep on the boob, then again in my arms was sick and immediately back to sleep.

I'm thinking it's because of the snot getting back into her throat when she lays down, but it was really quite scary to see. And I'm not sure what I can do tonight? I use the nose sucker/saline spray/calpol plug in already,

Any suggestions??

That’s usually the case with ours that they get sick because they can’t clear their noses, and the liquidy vomit babies do does make it look like it goes absolutely everywhere

you can also pop a rolled up towel under the head end of the cot to keep her laid up a little bit

Id just do what you’re doing but be on the lookout for anything more concerning, as absolutely huge volumes of vomit can be an indication of being more unwell

Thanks. We happen to have a GP appt tomorrow for her as I strongly suspect a food allergy, so can speak with them about it too. Was just really worrying to see
