Loose stools

Hi

my 5yo has been intermittently complaining of tummy ache (few times a day) for the past 5 days. Usually upon waking in the morning and then some time after breakfast and lunch, evenings seem fine.

her stools have been loose for this time too, not runny, just v soft. She’s also had a couple of fart accidents 🤦🏻‍♀️

my question is, when does this become something to be concerned, call GP about.

she’s fine in herself, eating and drinking, but I’ve been waiting for this to turn into a stomach bug but it doesn’t seem to be progressing into anything more than this, but the pain is bothering her a few times a day and her stools aren’t right x

We've just had this with my 5y old. There had been a lot of vomiting at school before the end of term so like you I was just waiting for it to turn into a full blown stomach bug but it never did.

I think definitely a bug for him, as he also slept poorly (only happens when ill) and was on and off his food). They just all react differently, I'm really glad we skipped the vomiting! Is her poo quite pale too? This was the case for DS.

I think it took a week for him to get fully better so ringing the GP in a couple of days could be an idea if it continues. We also gave Kefir and it seemed to help although could just be a coincidence.

@TummyTroubles2 thanks for the reply.

the pain/cramps seem to have really ramped up this morning so I’ve managed to get her a dr appt as I’m worrying about the 4 day weekend and it becoming worse.

hoping it’s nothing and will work it’s way out!

I wouldn’t be as worried if she had proper diharrea with the pains, but it just doesn’t seem to match up x

Oh yes that does seem worrying, stomachache was really mild for one, so definitely worth getting things checked out. Hope she's OK!
